San Salvador - El Salvador President, Mauricio Funes inaugurates this Monday the first head office of Women City, a governmental project aimed at giving full support to women.

UN Women Executive Director Michelle Bachelet is expected to be present at the ceremony. Also invited is the general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women who arrived in El Salvador on Sunday night.

The first installations of the program will be officially opened in Colon municipality, La Libertad department.

The Secretary for Social Inclusion and Salvadoran first lady Vanda Pignato is in charge of the project, who said that Women City wants to guarantee an honest life to women, by fully respecting their rights.

The project will provide collective education, sexual health, economic autonomy, prevention and attention in cases of violence, and child care services.

President Funes plans to build 6 more installations of Women City by the end of his presidential term on May 2014.
