The Core Course aims at providing participants with the basic knowledge and skills required in postconflict and crisis areas. Particular stress is put on the development of a co-operative attitude towards representatives and approaches of governmental and inter-governmental actors involved in peace-building, peace-keeping, development co-operation and humanitarian assistance as well as on the mainstreaming of a conflict sensitive approach.

The course fee is 1.260,- € per two weeks including half-board accommodation. Scholarships are available for applicants from non-OECD states.

IPT Specialisation Course on women in armed conflict

It is the overall objective of this course to prepare experts who work already or plan to work in (post) conflict zones for focusing on gender issues, either in relation to the situation and role of women affected by armed conflict or within the peacekeeping operation. The course aims at the focused preparation of experts who want to become specialized in topics such as the impact of war on women, gender analysis and the application of gender (mainstreaming) in project management, women's contributions to conflict resolution, DDR, humanitarian assistance, reconciliation efforts, peace processes etc. as well as gender sensitive approaches and their implementation in peace missions.

This course will offer the opportunity of a recruitement interview with United Nations Volunteers (UNV).

The course fee is 1.260,- € per two weeks including half-board accommodation. Scholarships are available for applicants from non-OECD states.
