Monday, October 10, 2005

In its presidential statement S/PRST/2004/40, the Security Council requested the Secretary-General to submit to it, in October 2005, an action plan for the implementation of resolution 1325 (2000) on women and peace and security across the United Nations system, with a view to strengthening commitment and accountability at the highest levels, as well as to allow for improved accountability, monitoring and reporting on progress on implementation within the United Nations system. The present report is prepared pursuant to that request.
