The purpose of the PeaceWomen UN Monitoring Section is to extract and analyze the women, peace and security content (or lack thereof) in the work of main UN bodies. Specifically, UN Monitoring Section examines the work of General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council (known as ECOSOC), the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), and C34 Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations and their work on women, peace and security. It should be noted that the work of the Security Council relating to women, peace and security can be found in the Security Council Monitor Section of the PeaceWomen website.
