National Implementation (including NAPs)
National Implementation is an over-arching category that is relevant all the other thematic areas and covers issues beyond what are referred to as “National Action Plans” (NAPs).
Although international policy is important, ultimately implementation efforts must take place at the national level. For that reason, it is vital the governments take on the responsibility for implementation of policies on women, peace and security – including those obligations reflected in Security Council Resolutions 1325, 1820, 1888 and 1889.

On December 19 2012, President Obama released the first-ever U.S. National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security, and signed an Executive Order directing the Plan be implemented across the government. CDC works consistently to protect the health of women and girls throughout the world, including countries affected by conflict and disaster.
