The Social Welfare Ministry and the Fiji Women's Crisis Center conducted a weeklong training for the people of Vunaniu village in Serua Tikina to create awareness on Zero Tolerance Violence Free Community.
Social Welfare Minister Dr Jiko Luveni says the training has been identified for the stakeholders, community adults and youths to help them understand their individual roles in terms of elimination of violence in their homes and communities.
Vunaniu village will be declared as the Zero Tolerance Violence Free Community by the end of the year.
Dr Luveni says they spoke on issues regarding violence and legislations in place to curb violence.
FWCC Coordinator Shamima Ali said the collaborative approach with the Ministry will be impactful in terms of eliminating violence against women and children.
