PROJECT: ADWAR Starts

In a partnership with OneVoice association, Roles for Social Change Association (ADWAR) implemented a preparatory workshop in the association's hall with a participation of 15 women from Hebron district. The workshop is included "women of influence" project that OneVoice association implements in all the Palestinian districts.

The project came to enhance the Palestinian women participation and promote them to take a leadership role in all life fields throughout training them about leadership and will concepts, in addition to raise their awareness about the importance to overcome weak points like fears and other social barriers that women face in the society.

The workshop informed the participants about OneVoice association and its projects for youth and women, in addition to inform them about "women of influence" project by giving them details about the criteria that will be taken to choose the participants as only 6 women will be chosen to represent Hebron district.

The participants discussed the prominent challenges that the Palestinian and Muslim women face and which hinder the development of their life; and that prove them from taking important decisions.

Malaka Samara, OneVoice association's women program officer, confirms on the importance of women as they occupy more than half of the society and the have the main role to educate future generations and develop their society and family.

"Based on that, it is important to give women the suitable role and participate in the decision making in all life fields", Samara added.

Nour Eideh, Roles association's project coordinator, said that "the participants are so excited to start the project in order to take an important position in the society by changing the traditional stereotype toward the Palestinian woman."

It is worth mentioning that "women of influence" project is a start point of the partnership relation between Roles for Social Change Association (ADWAR) and the OneVoice association which will be sustained for 18 months.
