Seeds of Hope, an award-winning film by Fiona Lloyd-Davies, will be screened at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa on May 28, 2014, at 7pm.
The film tells the story of Masika Katsuva, a survivor of rape, who has helped over 6,000 women and children in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It also features discussions with perpetrators, including soldiers, who talk openly about why they rape and their attitudes toward sexual and gender-based violence.
A panel discussion including film-maker Fiona Lloyd-Davies will follow.
This event is being co-hosted by the UK High Commission and the Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict in advance of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict in London, UK, from June 10-13, 2014.
