We commend the work of the UN in the promotion of gender equality and welcome the creation of a unified gender entity…This fall we also mark the 10th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security. We see it as an opportunity to review the implementation of the resolution with a view of identifying the best practice and challenges, particularly, regarding equal participation of women in decision-making and eradication of all types of gender-based violence, especially in conflict situations.
