2013: Year Ahead in Women, Peace and Security

2013 will see numerous events on women, peace and security around the world. Here are some important dates:

4-15 March: 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women
8 March: International Women's Day
18-28 March: The UN's Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty will be held in New York
March or April, Security Council will hold an open debate on conflict-related sexual violence (not yet confirmed)
October, Security Council will hold an open debate on Women, Peace and Security (not yet confirmed)
November 25- 10 December, annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign
