This project, titled "Feminist Roadmap for Sustainable Peace" by the Consortium on Gender, Security and Human Rights is based on the premise that sustainable peace and security requires addressing the inequalities, marginalizations and exclusions that underlie armed conflicts. The project also focuses on the fact that the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda needs more broadening and deepending to meet the goals of creating gender equitable sustainable peace.
The project proposes the following tools to strengthen efforst for sustainable peace and security, in line with the WPS agenda:
Forward-looking expert knowledge of post-war transnational political-economic processes and dynamics
Analysis of ways in which they impact gender relations and other structural inequalities
Recommendations for how to engage and modify those processes in ways more supportive of the societal transformations critical to building sustainable peace
