The UK Home Office Minister with responsibility for equality, Lynne Featherstone, is scheduled to arrive in the Capital for a three-day visit on Monday.
Issuing a press release here in Kathmandu on Sunday, the British Embassy in Nepal informed about her visit and said that it will be focused on how Nepal is tackling violence against women and other forms of discrimination.
During her Nepal stay, the British minister is scheduled to call on former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Justice Kalyan Shrestha, and members of the Constituent Assembly.
Similarly, she is scheduled to hold discussions with a range of other leading government and civil society personalities who are active in fighting violence against women and girls and discrimination against minorities and excluded groups.
During a visit to Kavre district, she will see the work of a paralegal programme implemented by the Ministry of Local Development and UNICEF with the UK funding.
