Director Kimberly Bautista and the Justice for My Sister Collective in Los Angeles and Guatemala will be activating a global 16-day digital campaign to end gender-based violence. On November 25th 2014 - International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women - Bautista will kick off the campaign by hosting a live virtual panel with Mexican actress and advocate Kate del Castillo at 8 pm EST on www.youtube.com/
This will be followed by the release of 16 short documentaries on the YouTube channel with testimonials of resilient women and men that have decided to #BreaktheSilence. The webseries is intended to chronicle stories of survival in order to encourage others to break the silence and prevent gender-based violence before it happens. The collectives are recruiting social media ambassadors to promote the campaign, which is accompanied by a Kickstarter online fundraiser to expand the Justice for My Sister educational training program. The feature documentary has already reached audiences in 20 countries and counting, and received numerous awards internationally.
