"The right and duty of every country is to safeguard and promote the rights of its citizens. Human rights should reinforce and reaffirm national sovereignty. This will then be the best guarantee that the safeguard responsibility as a principle will maintain its desired first and primary pillar. In this sense, the Republic of Macedonia will continue making efforts to preserve and promote human rights – efforts to promote democracy and rule of law, gender equality and improvement of the role of women and protection of vulnerable and marginalized groups."
