Women and girls in Liberia have been plagued by violence, destruction of communities and untold hardships in a country riddled by internal conflict and war. Mass population displacement is the order of the day. While women and girls bare the brunt of the devastation, they have laboured hard to provide for their families, tried to rebuild communities and contributed to peace processes but they are often barred from peace tables and positions of authority in post-conflict reconstruction.
