In follow-up to Commission on Human Rights resolution 1999/77, entitled “Situation of human rights in Haiti”, in which the Commission reiterated its call to the Special Rapporteur on violence against women to consider favourably the invitation by the Government of Haiti to visit the country, the Special Rapporteur visited Haiti from 14 to 17 June 1999.
