The Human Rights Council adopted a Resolution to dispatch an independent international commission of inquiry to Côte d'Ivoire during the 16th Session held in Geneva from 28 February to 25 March. This commission of inquiry, to be appointed by the President of the Council, will investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding the allegations of serious abuses and violations of human rights committed in Côte d'Ivoire following the presidential election of 28 November 2010 and will present its findings to the Council at its seventeenth session.
