Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has come out strongly against sexual offences committed against women and children.
Bainimarama voiced his concern in Kadavu as our reporter Apisalome Coka reports.

“Prime Minister Bainimarama has warned government will come down hard and apply the full brunt of the law who commit sexual assaults. Bainimarama made the statement whole opening the Tavuki Womens Resource Centre at Tavuki village yesterday. He says there are 739 cases of sexual assaults pending in our courts today and the figure is alarming and a disgrace to the nation. Bainimarama says, Fijians cannot build a better Fiji if we continue to abuse our women. He stressed real men don't hit women and women must exercise their rights if they're victims of such acts. The Prime Minister has directed the Fiji Police Force to implement a no tolerance policy on violence against women".
