UNCCR 1325 Strategies for Implementation: Experiences and Lessons

Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the UN, presented a keynote address on the genesis of the UN Security Council Resolution1325 and a global perspective on its implementation at the this meeting in Washington DC organized at the United States Institute of Peace along with three other organizations.

At the meeting, in addition to presenting the genesis of 1325, Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury also launched her own "doable, fast-track indicators" for 1325 implementation basically highlighting what pro-active steps could be taken immediately by the UN Secretary-General and the UN system without waiting any longer.
