Co-Chairs’ Summary Of The Vancouver Foreign Ministers’ Meeting On Security And Stability On The Korean Peninsula

On January 16, 2018, Foreign Ministers and representatives of 20 countries met in Vancouver, Canada, to work towards a stable, secure and denuclearized Korean Peninsula. Issues discussed at the meeting included: non-proliferation, sanctions and diplomacy. This was followed by an undertaking by all countries to take further steps including countering North Korea’s maritime smuggling in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions, and implementing measures to stop its illegal use of “ship-to-ship transfers”.
