Forty years ago a Women and Peace class at Scripps College in Claremont, CA began compiling a calendar of women peacemakers’ birthdays and their achievements. Now, the class has launched a Women in Peace website (www.womeninpeace.org) that includes birthdates and short biographies of women peacemakers from nearly 200 countries, along with their photographs and pertinent quotes about peace, and information about over 1000 women peace activist events.
