The Promise to “Leave No One Behind”: Financing the SDGs to Empower Women and Girls in Africa

193 Member States will meet on September 25 to 27 to adopt the new development agenda with an outcome document titled, “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” By 2030, the world aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, however the previous document is fragmented and continue to have gaps that do not solve issues of gender equality. One of the issue in Africa region, is luck of financing for gender equality which poses a serious threat to the achievement of the SDGs.
