‘Integrating Gender into the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States’ by Cortaid identifies points for integrating a gender perspective into the New Deal. The New Deal builds on commitments such as the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2008) and the Accra Agenda for Action (2008), which assists countries into transitioning to peace. This policy paper includes case studies from Afghanistan and South Sudan that shows the work that has already been done by women’s organisations around key issues of concern. It further highlights key recommendations and possible future actions that can be taken to incorporate a gender perspective into the New Deal.
