The Global Acceleration Instrument (GAI) was created to help implement UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and aims to address funding gaps for the financing on the WPS agenda. The GAI is a tool meant to rapidly address financing gaps of women’s participation in key phases of humanisation, peace, security and development financing and aims to break silos of the United Nations investing in enhancing women’s engagement, leadership and empowerment through all phases of the crisis, peace, security and development.
