Based on research and workshops – conducted with a group of 12 men and 12 women – this report explores the different impacts that land confiscation has on men and women in eastern Bago Region and Kayin State, Myanmar. It explores the consequences of land confiscations, including destruction of people’s livelihoods, economic insecurity, psychological trauma, and household conflicts, as well as gendered expectations and norms that heavily influence how land confiscations impact men and women differently.
